Over the course of 21 days leading up to the International Day of Peace on the 21st of September, 14 religious societies in Penang from different walks of life campaigned to encourage the general public in Penang to practice meditation or prayers within the period of 21 days up to the International Day of Peace (IDOP) which falls on the 21st of September.

Evening meditation featuring classical music and simple breathing techniques was held at the Penang Harmony Centre. The session was conducted by the Jing Yue Buddhist Meditation Association in English and Mandarin.
Mahindrama Meditation Centre also organised an evening meditation at their own centre. The session was conducted in English.
Our Penang Harmony Centre has witnessed a deep meditation on sacred scriptures conducted by The Penang Bahá’í Community in Chinese.
In the 4th meditation workshop for Meditate 21, Universal Peace Sanctuary Penang shared an Introduction to His Holiness Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan and some basics about Kundalini Yoga Meditation so that the participants can gain a deeper understanding about the importance of inner peace to achieve universal peace.
Carried out in English, the Gurdwara Sahib Butterworth community runs a meditation according to the Sikh faith in their Gurdwara.
World Community for Christian Meditation have a session to introduce the John Main tradition of meditation. The session started with a sharing by Bro. Bernard Capel, followed by a short video which ended with a short meditation.
The Masjid Sembilang community organised a Yassin recitation in between Maghrib and Isyak prayers at Masjid Sembilang attended by Deputy Chief Minister I, YB. Dato’ Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid, representatives from nearby houses of worship and local Muslims around Seberang Jaya.
In conjunction with the Appearance Day of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Sri Sri Radha Krishna Kanhaiya Temple of Devotion & Understanding of ISKCON Seberang Jaya has organised a session of Bhakti Yoga. The session consisted of a series of pujas as well as singing of devotional music accompanied by traditional drums and hand cymbals.

The Art of Living (Penang) organised a fun yoga while teaching the participants on how awareness can help with our mental health.
Zen Space Penang held its meditation workshop at Penang Harmony Centre and it was attended by different religious communities. The session started with Thai meditative music by Pop n Chee followed by a guided meditation by Myong An Sunim.
Georgetown Baptist Church organised a session on Christian Quiet Time. The session began with Rev. Dr. Tony Chuang sharing the Christian Gospel, followed by Pastor Liew Yean Huat sharing about Christian Quiet Time. The session provided participants with the opportunity to understand Christian beliefs and how they achieve inner peace.
Pro-Cathedral of St. George’s brought the participants in a time of reflection and examination of the soul to find peace in God. The meditation session is carried out in English.
Brahma Kumaris has organised an hour of sending peace to the world through meditation to calm the mind. The session is carried out in English.
