In collaboration with Penang City Eye, HARMONICO launched the Hindu Trails Exploration to educate Malaysians about the history, customs and architecture of Hinduism.
As it goes on, the lectures were conducted at Penang Harmony Centre on a weekend every two months throughout the year. The day after the seminar, participants went on two tours to temples in Penang.
The structure was designed with the intention of educating participants prior to their visits, equipping them with knowledge and nuance about Hindu culture and traditions, enabling them to understand and appreciate the rich history and teachings of the religion.
Given that Mandarin speakers are the program’s target audience, the entire two-day event is conducted in Mandarin by Mr. Tang Ah Chai and it is comprised of 2 syllabuses. The first syllabus encompassed the fundamentals of Hinduism. Meanwhile, the second syllabus delves deeper, with topics covering Indus civilization, India’s political and geographical history, and the history of Indian migrations to Malaysia.
